Business mogul and hip-hop star Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s release of his fifth album Animal Ambition this week has thrust the multihyphenate back to his original career as rapper. The businessman’s recent promotional run for the album — his first since 2009’s Before I Self Destruct — has found him life-coaching journalists and throwing terrible first pitches (blaming the later on “excessive masturbation,” natch).
Now, as 50 Cent told Jimmy Kimmel Thursday night, the rapper will sorta kinda not really appear in a new big-budget Disney film. “I did a big one,” 50 said. “This one ain’t going to no Redbox.”
Fifty has also joined the growing number of musicians and entrepreneurs who are embracing bitcoin by accepting the digital currency as payment for his new album, ‘Animal Ambition’.
50 Cent’s Shopify store will accept bitcoin payments for the new release, with BitPay acting as the payments processor. Shopify first integrated payments for its network of merchants in November 2013.
50 Cent celebrated the release of his new album, “Animal Ambition”, by dropping the official music video for the LP’s title track on Tuesday, June 3. Directed by Eif Rivera, the clip mostly features the rapper spitting his verses while being surrounded by some ladies who show off seductive moves in front of the camera.
Don’t miss the “Animal Ambition” album release party on Sunday, June 8th as 50 Cent hosts at Webster Hall in New York City.
